The Mimosa or Sensitive Plant is an icon in the houseplant world! These adorable little plants may look unassuming, but the leaves open and close with the light and when you touch the leaves, they snap shut!

Grow these charming shrubs indoors in bright-indirect light or outdoors in full sun to part shade in warm and humid climates. But that's not all, they produce adorable 1-inch pink pompom flowers that complete the look for a truly memorable houseplant.

    Instructions:

We recommend using the following to sow the seeds:

To plant the seeds, scarify the seeds by sanding them lightly with some sand paper before sowing in a well-draining and very moist seed-starting soil. Cover with a humidity dome and keep warm(use a heat mat if necessary) and keep brightly lit with grow lights or indirect sun. You should see sprouts within 2 weeks!

The plants are easy to care for, not requiring any fertilizing unless the leaves start to turn yellow. Water once soil starts to dry and make sure not to overwater. They love light, keep them in bright indirect light indoors, or full sun- part shade outdoors. If the leaves aren't opening fully, that may mean that they need more light(the leaves do close at night). Prune them regularly to keep it growing more full. These can also be grown as trailing or climbing plants!
